Case Study – Trident Housing Association

WindowmanUK Ltd was awarded the contract to supply and install replacement windows and doors into residential properties.

This project had many elderly residents who were concerned about any disruption and change.  However, WindowmanUK Ltd arranged a number of open days at the local day care centre. Sample windows and drawings showing window designs together with a programme showing the dates for the works was displayed for the residents. Staff were present from WindowmanUK Ltd to explain the works and answer any queries. Staff responsible for the works were introduced to the residents and contact names and numbers were provided, along with photo’s of each employee to help with security concerns.

This project again was completed within the budget and timescale. Based on the resident satisfaction results Trident Housing Association asked WindowmanUK Ltd to complete phase 2 of the project.

Conclusion: This was a challenging project not only because of access constraints but also because of design requirements, with each window and door the usual factors applied; security performance, aesthetics but also ease of operation was a major factor for the residents who were in many cases unable to open and close their timber windows.  We were able to provide various remote operational systems to overcome this.
